How to Start and Run a Madden Franchise League

A sustainable league starts with explicit authority, repeatable weekly operations, and one reliable record of what happened.

Define the league before recruiting

  1. 1Choose league size, game length, difficulty, advance cadence, and season format.
  2. 2Write the gameplay, scheduling, trade, disconnect, and evidence rules members will actually be held to.
  3. 3Name the adults who can manage members, publish content, review evidence, and configure integrations.

Create a predictable weekly rhythm

Publish the advance deadline, surface unplayed games early, record outcomes, and make exceptions visible. Consistency matters more than adding another channel or spreadsheet.

Connect data and communication deliberately

Use Discord for conversation and alerts, then maintain schedules, standings, rosters, decisions, and league history in a structured workspace. Start with manual Madden data uploads and enable AIRBUD only when the league is ready.

Keep decisions human and reviewable

Evidence and AI-assisted analysis can organize disputed footage, but a commissioner should document the rule, supporting timestamps, final decision, and any appeal path.
